Blog revamp!

Just spent like, 3 hours revamping my blog into the bluey-green funky goodness you see here!

Check out the graphics I created... all by myself!

First is the sweet wavy background (which is also now my Twitter background):

(Please don't steal. I will be very, very sad.)

You can make your own awesome seamless backgrounds and patterns on COLOURlovers.com, which is like my new favorite website of all time. Because I am indeed a colour lover, although I spell it C-O-L-O-R because that is the correct way. (Just kidding, British people!) tee-hee

Just sign up for a free account, then mouse over the Patterns tab at the top of the page, and click Create New. Then you can play around with the pattern maker and it's very fun and I wasted a lot of time doing that today.

I made the wavy background with colors to match my very favorite item photo, which I am now using as my avatar/icon for like, every account I've ever had in my entire life.

If you simply MUST own this adorable pendant, visit it in my Etsy shop by clicking here!

So then, I decided to bust out Gimp, which is like a free knock off version of Photo Shop and is JUST LIKE Photo Shop but does not cost $600. It's free. Free! Go to Gimp.org to download.

Ok, so then I used this awesomely difficult and complicated blog tutorial from Kevin and Amanda to make a scrapbook blog background. I didn't follow the tutorial exactly because I obviously used my own colors and images and whatever, but you get the idea. Here's what I created:

I think it turned out awesome! I love the little stars. :)

Make sure you check out the other blog tutorials on Kevin and Amanda because there are some really fun ways to make your blog stand out from the crowd, especially if you've got a little knowledge of graphic design and/or HTML coding. I've used a bunch of her tutorials for my own blog! She also offers tons of adorable free fonts! Yay for cute, free things!

(I also stumbled over to Shabby Blogs today via Kevin and Amanda's blog, and found a bunch more cool blog tutorials! Also free graphics and backgrounds! Hurrah!)

I also made a new blog banner using my favorite font (find awesome free fonts on my fave font website, Da Font!), and some cute stars, and this adorable little owl graphic that I borrowed from a freebie on Shabby Blogs. Just had to Gimp the little bugger a bit. Check it out:

I also added post dividers using (believe it or not) another blog tutorial. This one was from Shabby Blogs (which is quickly becoming my new fave blog). This is the image I used to divide... recognize the owl? hehe

You can find this divider (and other cute goodies) on the Extras page of Shabby Blogs.

So now I am like totally exhausted and my brain hurts from staring at the computer screen for 12 hours, but I do believe it was totally worth it because I think my blog looks better than ever. It's always evolving though, so keep your eyes peeled for more fun edits.

Don't forget to leave a comment with your thoughts! I want to hear what you think or if you've tried any of the blog tutes I mentioned above. :)

Thanks for telling me about the links! They looked ok on my laptop so I had no idea! I tweaked the color a tiny bit so it isn't so bright now. :)
