Etsy Shop Feed RSS

Ok, this is totally new to me.

Did you know you could subscribe to an Etsy shop's RSS feed?

Yeah, I didn't either! But it's true, you can.

Don't know what an RSS feed is?

Dictionary.com says it's "an Internet signal to disseminate various subscriber-requested XML file formats with real-time information." Ok that doesn't make sense to me either. Basically all it is is this cool thing that if you "subscribe" to it, it will tell you when something (blog, website, Twitter account, Etsy shop, etc) is updated, which is kind of handy if it's something you check obsessively anyway (such as LOLcats, for me).

To subscribe to the RSS feed for an Etsy shop, go to the "shop home" page and find the thingy that looks like this (it'll be on the right hand side of the page, and you'll probably have to scroll down a bit to find it):
Then click on the "Subscribe to shop feed" link (duhh).

You'll be taken to the subscription page, and at the top of the screen, you should see this:

Pretty self explanatory (unless you've never subscribed to something via RSS before). You can choose how you'd like to subscribe to the shop feed. Just click on the drop down menu:

I like Google (because it knows everything) so that's what I choose to subscribe to stuff with, but you can use any of the options. Then all you have to do is click the Subscribe button, and depending on what program you've chosen to subscribe with, they will present you with some different options of how you want to be notified (Google uses the Google homepage or email).

After you put in your individual preferences, you're done! You've just subscribed to an Etsy shop feed, yay!

Now you are a pro at RSS, and you can go all over the web subscribing to different sites, feeds, pages, and such. I'm so proud of you. :)
